Colli Euganei Cherries

Cultivated in almost all the territory of Colli Euganei for centuries, cherries are one of the most characteristic products of the Park. Since when they were sold only in some local markets, their production has been increasing in the whole area of Colli and today you can find many events dedicated to them, including, in June, the well-known "Cherry Festival".

Colli Euganei cherries have a medium size, dark red color, and bent peduncle. They are obtained from the varieties bigarreau, bigarreau moreau, classical and early durona, durone di vignola, and from other spontaneous local varieties. They are used to prepare jam and cherries in alcohol. Maraschino liquor is famous and very appreciated.
